RE: Checking tire pressure with jacks down...

Jacks up or down will make no difference, outside temperature will have an effect.

RE: winterizing with an air hose...how effevtive is it?

I have used air for years with really no serious problem, but I do cycle the air through all the taps, low point drains, toilet etc. I did forget the spray cleaner nozzle for the toilet one time and did crack it and had to replace it. Use lots of air. The main reason I started using air was that it seems I can taste the pink stuff for weeks after flushing the system.

RE: Spell Checker

RE: How many have had a blowout while using TPMS

Touch wood, I have never had a blowout on any tire in all 45 years of driving cars, pickups, bed trucks and tractor trailers. I have always been very careful about tire pressure, a;ways on the high side of the recommended pressure. I have used my Pressure Pro on my MH for 4 years and wood not be without it. From my experience I am not convinced that tire age is the problem but rather running on the bare minimum pressure recommended for that smoother ride. I will forgo that smooth ride and keep the tire pressure up at the top range for my own piece of mind.

RE: Diesel overflow ...

Don't say ALL monaco's don't have vents on the fuel tank. My 03 Knight has one and my brass fuel caps do not have a vent hole in them. If the fuel is cheaper in a certain state I also till my unit to get the maximum fill which is about 20 gallons.

RE: Vent Pipe Venturi Idea

There are a couple of different brands of a venturi types of vents made. They work great both while driving and or parked. Been using one for years and we never use any chemicals of any type with no smell what so ever, DW would let me know, she has a keen sence of smell.

RE: driving from MA to Calgary - help!

I agree, stay on US2, the Trans Canada highway in Ontario and Manitoba is a joke, potholes, rough and narrow, plus fuel is a buck a gallon more.

RE: towing a saturn

Towed a Vue, no problem, follow owners manual. Instead of pulling the fuse I soldered a switch into the circut so all we do is reach under the dash and flip the switch. Much easier than pulling the fuse.

RE: Casino Over Nighting Banned In Reno

I am not sure how they can enforce the no parking ban at a 24 hour facility. I for one like to play black jack but only at night. My wife needs her sleep, so while I play she is resting in bed while waiting for me to get my fill of the game. I always let security know what we intend to do and have never had a problem parking, even in Henderson who have had a parking ban for years.

RE: "Who's Going to Alaska in 2009?"

Off we go, the Good Lord Willing. Probably travel by ourselves, maybe with one other unit, just depends on who. A NO for caravans for us, like to come and go as we please.

RE: Tacoma PU with Harley in Bed as a toad?

Toyato Frame Rust problem, I contacted my Toyato dealer last spring when it was first annouced. This is a recall situation so all effected owners should recieve a recall letter but sometimes they fall through the cracks. Just stop at any dealer and they can run your serial # and see if your unit is affected. Mine was built after the problem had been fixed.

RE: Where do you winter in Arizona?and why

I would suggest you take the first winter and move around every couple of weeks. That way you get to see the country and can then decide if you want to go back to the same place each winter and what area you like best. If you stay in one place the whole winter the first year you will probably never experience the rest of the state untill it is to late.

RE: Holding tanks prep question

Use water, its a holding tank not a septic tank. I don't understand the need for chemicals, laundry soap, softner etc, why polute if you don't have to. Install a flush system if your unit didn't come with one.

RE: What happens if you cant dump holding tanks for awhile?

Its a holding tank, plane and simple not a septic tank, and as long as you don't have any leaks to loose the liquid, no problem and you don't need chemicals. We never use chemicals and never have any problems. Its to bad that chemicals have become a way of life for so many people, polute and polute somemore.

RE: leveling

I don't understand why people are so concerned about lifting the tires off the ground while leveling. Our Monaco has the 3 point lift system. The manual says to always lift the front first and then lift the rear as necessay. We boondock 95 % of the time so we often park with front or rear off the ground. When I store the unit at home, the first thing I do is take the weight off the wheels. I have been doing this for years with no problems. The Techs I have asked at Monaco don't see a problem with what I am doing. Once you take the weight of the unit on the jacks there is no front, rear or side push or pull unless you use some outside force.

RE: Tacoma PU with Harley in Bed as a toad?

When I was buying my 2005 Tacoma, Toyato assured me that a 4 wheel drive manual could be towed 4 down without disconnecting the drive shaft. It may have changed for the later models

RE: cheap generators

If you are going to camp with neighbours buy the expensive quiet one, you will make friends, if you camp by your self then if you like noise, go for the cheap one.

RE: To Level or Not to level

I always have mine up on the jacks except when moving. I paid for them so I may as well use them. Anything I own like boat trailers that are stored I put up on jack stands.

RE: Cool weather and Pressure adjustments

I never adjust my tires because of ambient temperature changes. I use a pressure pro and I find that within 10 miles the tires are heated up and the pressure is back up to normal.
